The Never Land Syndrome:
(The Principle of) a Discordant Utopia
Why spend your time looking to the stars or to an unknowable heaven when it could be spent looking inward into yourself and those around you? You may say “I know heaven because I have been told about it”. Of course you have! We have all been told about the one true heaven of yhwh and Jesus and Allah. However, in regards to what we really “know” we really only have one thing in common and that singular thing is this life that we live now which is subsequently tied to death. Yes, the one thing we truly all share. As strange as it may sound our faith is really only based in life, not what we know to be true in faith but reality. There, in that one moment when we are certain of our faith, we alienate each other.
Our lives, humanity that is, has become a disrupted harmony or balance which may be perceived in one given thing, place or time and is so ridiculously dependent upon variables; namely imagination. The ability to dream is common whereas the dreams themselves fall within a broad spectrum that varies from seemingly random or without reason to specific and with cause. The influence(s) that drive the reasoning are borne by an unknown or hidden force.
The mind of a human is a great mystery otherwise we as humans would not put so much stock in attempting to itemize every aspect of our existence and categorize the happenings of the human mind itself.
In a truly Utopian society we would have it figured out and be without a need to dissect the how’s and why’s of the psyche thereby effectively divesting certain people of employment altogether. For there would be no need of psychology, law enforcement, branches of government, certain forms of religion and others. The principle of a discordant Utopia lies in that the harmony we seek is already in our possession, we simply fail to manifest it by our actions and deeds. Words mean nothing.
When those with secular and religious power are one and the same we will never move forward. Corrupt politicians and religions based on war and death are the current paradigm. in the face of this of course our society is discordant, of course we lack balance and harmony. We seek outside of ourselves for answers in churches and politicians because we have been taught that it is evil to seek answers for ourselves. Turn to government, religion, or the media.
Looking for something that does not exist makes does not make it real, looking for something vehemently that does not exist makes us insane. A secluded place of peace and the pinnacle of human endeavors where humanities best qualities shine are places of dreams.
They are kingdoms of the imagination because we don’t know how to make them real. Babel, Neverland, Heaven, Du’at, Asgard, Atlantis, Olympus, The Elysian Fields, Camelot, Shangri-la, and Avalon among so many. So we find that they are secluded island kingdoms, or found high on mountain tops, hidden in valleys. These Utopian heavens are ones that deprive themselves from the rest of the world, nations of gods secluded from other nations of gods. They that share so many common features are common because we share so many common features. The ideal, the mythology still holds a place in our hearts but we fail to manifest with our hands. Why?
